Deadly Mentorz is a unique, innovative, creative, First Peoples consulting business. Founded by our passionate, brave, and bold Director Naomi. We lead with passion, & dedication we wish for everyone to aspire to be the best version of themselves, you are what is within.

NAOMI - My Yarn so far, Director of Deadly Mentorz,

I am a proud Saltwater Woman. My mob are Yanyuwa from Borroloola, and we have strong connections on Larrakia Country in Darwin in the Northern Territory.

I cherish my culturally diverse background, that includes Spanish Filipino, Italian, Irish, and South African Ancestry. It’s my identity, who I am. I’ve had a beautiful journey so far, and I previously lived and worked in Sydney for 12 years on Gadigal Country, Cammeraygal Country, Wangal Country, and Dharug Country . This is where I learnt so much about myself, my Culture, Identity, and my business Deadly Mentorz became a reality. I followed my passion to teach, mentor, and yarn to share about my culture. I have strong family connections in Darwin on Larrakia Country and Adelaide on Kaurna Country. I grew up on Ngarrindjeri Country at Goolwa in South Australia, by the Saltwater, and Murray River. I am an experienced coach, project manager, radio journalist, presenter and mentor with, over 15 years’ of experience writing, developing, and delivering educational programs with universities, primary and high schools on aspiration/mentoring programs. I attended the University of Adelaide and obtained a Master of Arts by Research; and an Honours Degree in Media. I am trained as a radio broadcaster; and journalist and I worked at the ABC in Sydney. I have written for the Koori Mail Newspaper; and worked in radio broadcasting. I have worked in the Federal Government, private sector, and corporate IT sector, higher education for over 15 years across a myriad of roles. I have extensive experience in project and event management, media and broadcasting, public speaking, writing, developing and delivering programs to schools and the corporate sector, teaching, sharing knowledge to diverse audiences, mentoring university students, primary, high school students, and community. I have experience in First Peoples engagement, employment, strategic policy and RAP development, cultural safety coaching for all sectors, aligning with First Peoples knowledge and leadership. 

Our team has a burning passion; and desire to redress the educational disparity for all people from diverse cultural backgrounds. We’re passionate about helping people from all cultural backgrounds to succeed and flourish. Aligning with our First Peoples values, of sharing, giving back to community, respect, kindness, and passing on knowledge for the next generation. I begun Deadly Mentorz to pass on a positive legacy for the next generation, aligning with my Ancestors and role models that have gone before me. Respect, being present, positive, and leading with integrity are integral qualities that I work towards everyday in life. Deadly Mentorz is about that and doing our bit to give back to community, and always walking gently on Country, whilst listening to our Ancestors.

The Deadly Mentorz Team is driven by our ethos and pillars: 

LEADERSHIP – leading by example with culturally appropriate mentoring/cultural safety coaching/leadership programs. We develop and deliver in consultation with schools; and the corporate sector through being agents of social change, sharing our diverse cultures, focusing on strong community engagement and working with diverse communities to inspire, and build aspirations and; resilience.

RESPECT – by being empathetic, compassionate, and respectful in all our dealings with community and our; clients, when relationship building, developing, and delivering programs in consultation. 

INNOVATIVE – in our approach to writing, developing and delivering project and event management, mentoring, and coaching programs to our clients, and community. 

BALANCE – by maintaining a strong presence within community, staying focused on our CORE business to mentor, coach, develop, and empower everyone from our diverse audience to be the best version of themselves. Staying Present, Connecting to Country and taking the time needed to align with our ways of knowing, doing and being.

GROWTH – by continually connecting to country, walking gently, deep listening, looking after mind, body and spirit and; having an inquiring mind to succeed through lifelong learning on the job, within community, and through personal reflection.

We have a suite of diverse mentoring; and coaching programs with a fusion of First Peoples Culture. Our programs, and experience in project and event management aim to build positive relationships across all cultural backgrounds to build your development and aspirations.
